An opportunity to broaden your knowledge of the Open Water environment, learn about cold water shock, build your confidence & learn to acclimatise.

BEGINNERS FRONT CRAWL
Taking your swimming the next step
Have you been enjoying your breaststroke swims and now want to try something new, perhaps you’ve never properly learned and want a go at front crawl swimming in the sea. You’ll also familiarise yourself with how to read sea conditions, recognise suitable swimming conditions for your favourite swim spots, and other useful swimming sea knowledge.
Wetsuits, hats and goggles are advised.
IMPROVERS CRAWL / TRAIN FOR AN EVENT
Building Fitness & Stroke Technique
Improve your sea swimming fitness and/or stroke technique with a series of swimming drills and longer swims. Develop your sea knowledge. Perhaps an opportunity to hone your swimming in preparation for a swimming event. Build on your Open Water Skills by learning Sighting & Drafting, and learn about race starts/logistics/race anxiety to help you feel more confident about under-taking a swim event in the future.
ADULT SWIMMING LESSONS
Want to learn in the pool first?
If you really want to build your swimming confidence and skill level before embarking on the Open Water, I offer Adult Swimming Lessons, in small groups held in the Learner Pool at Penryn Primary School;
Thursday Evenings
Beginners 7-8pm
Improver Front Crawl 8-9pm
Courses are term-time and run in 6 week blocks, bookings are 1/2 termly but do get in touch as we can sometimes add you mid term depending on numbers. See Freestyle Swim School for full details
I can also offer Private 1:1 lessons at a pool near Carnon Downs (£55/hr), and offer ‘buddy’ swimming opportunities to gain confidence at local hotel pools in Falmouth as well; £20/session (+ pool entry costs).
